promoting astronomy since 1950...

We also have our own club room at the University (map) which is open for astronomical discussion (and a cup of tea and a biscuit!). For security reasons access to the club room needs to be by prior arrangement, please get in touch if you want to come along. Although we are based at Aston University, we are NOT part of the academic faculty. We are amateur astronomers, and we use a room at the university as a base. (please note that the clubroom is NOT room 554).

Public Outreach

Bringing astronomy to a wider public audience has always been a central activity for Birmingham Astronomical Society. We usually hold 2 star-parties each year at Lickey Hills Visitor Centre as part of British National Science Week and World Space Week. The public is encouraged to come along to these events and see the night sky as they may never have seen it before.
